Write the content before the design
Design fitted around real copy works. Copy squeezed into a template that was designed around placeholder text does not. Content first is the single biggest quality difference in a website project.
Build for speed as a requirement
Page speed affects both ranking and conversion, and it is far cheaper to build fast than to optimize later. That means image discipline, minimal JavaScript and server-rendered HTML by default.
Decide who edits it, and how often
